Staff

We recognize that the nursery is only as good as its staff and have a well-trained and highly motivated team. We employ a trained teacher who works with the oldest age group and an Early Years Professional (an early years teacher). All managers and room leaders as well as some of the nursery nurses hold an NVQ level 3 qualification, and all other staff are working towards this qualification. We provide them with comprehensive, ongoing training either with broad based courses such as NVQ levels or with courses covering specific areas of interest such as Forest Schooling.

We recognise the importance of continuity and have a very low staff turnover. The managers have been here childminding and then managing the nursery for 8 years now. This is particularly important to the children as it provides them with an invaluable sense of stability.
The sense of family and staff support is further increased with 4 staff members bringing their own children with them.
We treat all the children and staff with the utmost respect and it shows, just visit us to see.

New staff are fully interviewed and referenced, as well as being subject to the standard police and social services checks. They all undergo induction training and have regular career reviews and assessments.

Each child will have one main key person to care for them, this is particularly important during the settling in period although we find that they choose their own favourite staff members very quickly.
